Massage Therapy
Why Should You consider seeing an RMT?
Registered Massage Therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular overuse and many chronic pain conditions. RMTs can work with a variety of patients in treatment of illness, injury rehabilitation and disability whether in acute or chronic stages.
Massage therapy can be beneficial to a wide variety of conditions and is a great addition to your everyday healthcare.
Why Trust an RMT with your healthcare?
- An RMT has completed a 2-3 year program at an accredited college of massage therapy, and they have passed a provincial licensing examination that ensures they have the competencies necessary to safely and effectively administer treatment.
- An RMT is required to participate in a Quality Assurance Program as set out by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia, which assists in the maintenance of professional standards and quality care. They are required to be consistently familiar, compliant, and up to date with College Standards of Practice and Ethical Standards, as well as any applicable government Acts of Legislation.
- An RMT is accountable to the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC) through the complaints and discipline processes if the services they provide do not meet the standards of practice.
- An RMT will provide a receipt to you that can be submitted to your extended health benefits plan for reimbursement. Provenance also offers direct billing to most Insurance Providers in BC.
